cynohn's question:
Am I nuts, or there's a real hotel made of ice somewhere in Jukkasjarvi? Expensive?(give a different answer) .
Sounds mad, but it's a fact. 12 km from the airport of Jukkasjarvi, the Ice Hotel is a translucent construction built every November since 1990 from 4,000 tones of packed ice and snow. Once spring comes, the hotel melts and disappears into River Tone, as it's erected on the banks. Surprisingly, the odd hotel has enough guests, even a honeymoon suit. Everything is ice carved: colonnades, decorations and furniture: the beds are ice blocks, covered with reindeer skins and a high-tech sleeping bag. Prices? 100 $ for a triple, including thermal sleeping bag, morning shower.
